A message from Stuart Dennis (Club Chairman):
I’m afraid that our current access arrangements to the tennis courts at Sedgefield Community College are now changing. From the start of September, we will only be able to access the courts during Sedgefield Community College Association (SCCA) opening hours, rather than by the use of our padlock keys as we were previously able to.
With the SCCA open each evening during the week, there is no change here, and we will continue to have access to the indoor changing rooms and toilets at the school whilst the SCCA is open. At the weekends, however, the SCCA is currently only open on Saturdays and Sundays until 1pm, so any weekend play will need to take place before then.
Your padlock keys (If you have one) will not be required in September, although we hope for the original access arrangements to subsequently be re-instated. If you wish to return the key for a deposit, then please return it to either myself, or the membership secretary.
The cause of these changes is the College site insurance concerns of the site managers, Carillion. It is not a change which we are happy with, and although we are looking to see what can be done to increase our weekend access of the tennis courts, the access changes will take place from September.
